The Sick Jokes thing is selling well enough for the publisher to start making noises that they’re interested in a follow up.
But what exactly?
I asked a few friends, one said, “I think you should write a ‘proper’ book. How to get 1,000,000 hits in one day. It’d be the bible for viral people everywhere.”
Sadly this would be a very short book, as the only secret is “make it good”.
Or in more detail: Pick an area that you have some insight into, make it easy to comprehend, add a few jokes if you can think of them, tell everyone you know and hope for the best.
So, over to you. Got any ideas?
You could write a book detailing your stance on the comedy of Bill Hicks. Might not be a real crowd pleaser though
My stance is that… I liked him best when talked about hallucinogens. He became calm, poetic even.
Listening to his old CDs now, the Bush stuff kinda odd. As it sounds like he’s talking about the current one.

I dunno why but I was pretty surprised to see you of all people dissing him, to the point that I was dubious about how interested I was in any more beta related stuff. Not because I’m the biggest Hicks fan in the world evah, but because I had you down as someone who would have dug what he was about.
Or maybe it’s because that whole oft-abused ‘The world is just a ride at an amusement park’ bit at the end of revelations rocked my little world as a kid. For my money, that whole bit is one of the few things he said that’s remained timeless.
No point being that arsed about it though is there, cause it’s just a ride after all :)
Make a book about how B3ta got to being famous, including some best ever B3ta image challenge images! You could also include how to be a B3tan (or B3tard) and how new people can fit in without feeling the wrath of n00b hatred.
It’d be a social document of our times!

I think teh B3ta annual is a fantastic idea, Summarise the news of the year as depicted by B3tans. I think amongst the B3ta faculty there is enough talent to make this both hilarious and very artistic. Include feature length cartoons by ThorSonofodin and Jolly Jack etc. plus best answers to QOTW’s. A special section for prolific posters like happy Toast and Beau Bo’D'or, Something along the line of the fist of fun annual from a few years ago crossed with the Dandy annual. Just have to overcome the use of copyrighted images. Would be a great ongoing project for next year.
I think a “b3ta’s things to make and do” book could be pretty good.
Stuff like the cigarette carton Elvis you made, or Fraser’s Scotch Ostritch Egg. I would also like to see my idea of Urban Fishing taken up and documented (opening a manhole cover and fishing down the drain for mutant frogs).
That or, “Why did Battersea smell in the 70s? (questions Google can’t answer)”. Like a funnier, non-scientific version of “Does anything eat wasps?” – taken from the newsletter’s Q+A bit.

I think the B3ta Annual is a great idea– you can have sections with FP’s/ most popular I like this!-es pics, QoTWs, Image Challenges.
I think the QoTW is a goldmine of hilarious stories waiting to be used– and you can even stick random (and amusing) I like this!’d comments from /talk to end off chapters. Braw!
